Trezor Bridge — Troubleshooting & Fixes

Common problems and practical fixes when Bridge or device detection fails.

Device not detected

Symptoms: Wallet page shows "no device found" or device doesn't appear in Bridge.
Quick fixes:
  • Check the USB cable — use an original/data-capable cable and try different ports.
  • Unlock your device (enter PIN) before opening the wallet page.
  • Restart Bridge (or the OS) and reload the browser.
  • Temporarily disable other wallet apps/extensions that may monopolize USB access.

Permission/driver errors

Symptoms: OS prompts, permission denied, or driver errors on Windows/Linux.
  • On Windows: run the installer as administrator and accept driver prompts.
  • On Linux: check udev rules and ensure your user has USB device access; run sudo to install rules and log out/in after.
  • On macOS: approve permissions under System Preferences > Security & Privacy if blocked.

Bridge update problems

Symptoms: Update fails, Bridge won't restart, or old version persists.
  • Uninstall Bridge completely, reboot, then download and reinstall the latest version from an official source.
  • Check for conflicts with security software (temporarily disable if safe to do so while updating).
  • If firmware updates fail, ensure you have your recovery seed and do not interrupt power during the device update process.
